After competing the first draft of our trailer we thought it would be a good idea to ask our target audience if it matched the codes and conventions that they would expect to find in a horror movie trailer. After showing them our trailer we asked them questions like...
What do you like about the trailer?
What do you dislike about the trailer?
Do you think we have used enough camera angles?
Do you think the narrative texts used are successful?
What type of music do you think would go well with the trailer?
Do you think it looks like a teaser trailer?
What would you like to see more of in the trailer?
We received feedback like...
"My favourite scene is the point of view shots running through the forest."
"I don't think some of the inside scenes are as successful and they are sometimes a bit confusing"
"My favourite camera angle is the high angle shot because it makes the girl look in danger."
"I think that there should be more forest scenes because they look more interesting."
"Maybe you could include more camera angles and shots to add some variety."
"It does look like a teaser trailer because it isn't that long."
"Rock music would go really well with the trailer because it would add excitement."
"Metal and rock music would go well because it would suit the scenes."
After these comments we have decided we will go back to our location and film a few more extra scenes so that we can include a few more camera angles and shots. We will also start looking at rock music, we have not yet decided whether we will use a copyright free piece of music off the Internet or create our own themed music to go with our trailer on Garageband.
