Questionnaire

We questioned 20 people of our target audience how much they are willing to pay for a film magazine and how often they buy one so we can set the price for our own magazine and decide whether we want to make a monthly magazine or fortnightly one.
Here are the results:

How much are you willing to pay for a film magazine?
£0-£1 5
£1-£1.50 4
£2-£3 9
£3 + 2

Do you purchase film magazines? If yes, How often?

Weekly 1
Fortnightly 4
Monthly 10
Occasionally 5

Our research shows that the best price to set will be between £2-£3 since that was the most popular choice in our audience. This will be a suitable price because it is affordable for the ages between 16-24, but also reasonable.
Film magazines are purchased mostly monthly as our research shows. 11 people out of the 20 purchase film magazines this frequently. Only one out of the 20 buy film magazines weekly. Therefore we feel creating a magazine which will be sold monthly will be most suitable and create the most sales.

Another question we asked was where do you purchase film magazines from. This is so we know where to distribute our product.

Where do you usually purchase film magazines from?

Local supermarket 6
Petrol Stations 4
Local shops 4
News-agents 5
Subscription 0
Other 1

Our results show that the most common place to buy film magazines from is the local super-market and news-agents. This is where we will be distributing our product to aim at our target audience. Petrol Station seems to be a popular choice also and this maybe because our target audience is between the ages of new drivers. Subscription was not a popular choice and this could be because subscription is mainly aimed at the young audience below the ages of 12.

  1. Does your research give you any indication of what the USP (unique selling point) for your magazine will be? Do you have evidence that there is a market for another monthly film magazine?
