Development of our Trailer
This is our second draft of our trailer. Although we still haven't added any music which means that you can't get the full feel for the trailer and the complete ideology that we are trying to create is not as obvious. As you can see we have taken some of our target audiences advice on board and we have added more forest scenes. The second time we went to film we used a different camera and we were worried that the new filming would look too different to our old filming. Also the weather was different on the second day of filming and it was raining so the lighting was different and was a little darker than it was before. When we added the filming to IMovie and watched it back we found that it did look slightly different. We added it to our film anyway just to see what it would look like and thankfully we thought that it looked quite successful. This was because the scenes looked quite dark and followed the theme we were going for. Also it looked like an effect had been added onto the scene.
Our favourite new scenes that have been added is the extreme low angle shot where the character jumps over the camera. This is because it looks interesting and creates panic. We also liked the scene where the camera circulates around the main character. This scene is successful because it creates the feeling of panic and builds up the tension. Also in this draft of our trailer we have added a black shot and added a possible title for our film in block capitals. Obviously we will have to alternate the font of the title to make it more obvious to the audience that is the title and not just another piece of narrative text. Changing the font is also very important because the title of the film almost becomes a logo for the film and consumers identify the style of writing with the film. We may also change the positioning of the title and may place it later on in the trailer. We also need to ask our audience about the title for our film after they have watched the trailer and we have explained the storyline to see what one they think would best represent our trailer and the ideology we are trying to create.
