Scene
1. We will use the 'Green Screen' in our trailer to make it look proffesional and convincing as a real trailer.
2. We shall add the Twisted Pictures logo to our trailer because this is the institution we have chosen to accompany our own institution.
3. We will put 'in association with' to show that M.A.D Productions is a part of Twisted Pictures.
4. When we have created our M.A.D Productions logo we will add it to our trailer to give it a personal touch.
5. We have used a medium shot so the audeince has a clear view of what is going on within the scene and a slightly high angle shot to show her vulnerability and to give the suggestion to the audeince that she is about to face danger.
6. In the scene where she wakes up in bed we have used a medium close up to intensify the emotion of her face.
7. The first of the narrative text scenes are shown here to begin the story of the trailer and so the forest scenes and the house scenes are separated so not to confuse the audience. ‘She was alone’ is shown first because it clearly shows the audience that the girl could be in danger.
8. We have used tracking to give the feeling that the girl is being watched which will create tension within the audience. A slightly long shot has also been used to show the girl running deeper into the forest which could spell danger.
9. We have used a point of view shot so the audience can relate to the character and feel part of the film. A handheld camera effect has also been used because the character is running it means the camera is very jumpy which could suggest to the audience that the film could be jumpy.
10. The second of the narrative text scenes is shown with ‘With nowhere to hide’. This text follows on from the first so it makes the trailer tell a story to the audience. It also creates more tension because it puts the girl in more danger. The black background we have used for all of our narrative text scenes reflects the darkness of the film and the mood we are trying to create.
11. We have used a long, full body shot of the character so that the audience can tell what is going on.
12. We got inspiration for the girl behind the banisters scene from The Others trailer. The banisters look like bars which could represent the entrapment of the character. We have used a medium shot so the character’s emotions can be seen quite clearly. An eye level shot has been used so the audience can relate to the character.
13. We have used a high angle shot to show the girl running up the stairs which not only make her look less powerful but they also suggest that someone is waiting for her at the top of the stairs.
14. A medium close up has been used to show the fear of the girl and a slightly high angle shot has been used to show how her fear is developing.
15. Another narrative text scene is shown to engage the audience. ‘Feel the panic’ adds tension and it also relates to what is to follow in the next few scenes.
16. We used an over the shoulder shot and her face can be seen in the reflection of the mirror. Over the shoulder shots are normally used to show conversation scenes, people say talking to yourself is the first sign of madness. This could suggest to the audience the character is not in the right state of mind.
17. An extreme close up shot is used to show the terror in the girl’s eyes and as she looks behind her it suggests to the viewer that something is there.
18. A medium shot is used to show the girl cutting her arm. This also suggests the girl could be going mad. A medium shot is used so that the audience can see exactly what is going on.
19. A close up of her arm is then shown to intensify the scene.
20. ‘Feel the fear’ is shown on the screen. This relates to the narrative text shown before which is a technique we picked up from the Sorority Row trailer.
21. A close up point of view shot of someone walking around a tree is shown. This is used because the audience is unsure of whose point of view it is and they are anxious to find out what will be behind the tree.
22. Another tracking shot is used to show the girl walking through the forest, a higher angle shot has been used this time to show how she is know in more danger.
23. The girl then jumps over the camera, this is used to represent that the girl is trying to get away from something.
24. A medium close up is shown of the girl and a dolly is used to circulate around her. This shows the panic she is in and how danger is surrounding her.
25. ‘Don’t look back’ grabs the audience’s attention because it is a direct comment to them.
26. The next scene then shows the girl looking back behind her and disobeying what the narrative text before had said. This is something that was inspired by the Scream trailer. A medium close up is used to show her fear and the camera is at eye level so her face can clearly be seen.
27. ‘Nowhere to run’ then slams onto the screen in a different font from the others to distinguish it and make it clear to the audience that this is the title of the film.
‘It’s coming to get you’ adds tension to the audience which makes them scared because it is like a direct comment to them.
28. The last proper scene we have shown is the girl sitting down and a point of view shot of someone walking up to her from behind as if they are getting ready to attack her.
29. ‘Soon’ is then shown which follows on from ‘It’s coming to get you’. We used this because we thought it would be more interesting than just using ‘Coming Soon’ like most films do.
30. The end credits scene is used to make the trailer look like a real professional trailer.
