All films have a certificate which shows who can and can not watch a film in the cinema. The certificate also represents our target audience because we are aiming for an audience above the age of 16, it is important the certifcate allows this. As we want our trailer to look as professional as possible we shall include a certificate on our film. This is a type code and convention of both theatrical and teaser trailers.
We chose to put a certificate 15 on the film. In order to reach our chosen age group we have used a 15 certificate. Also as our film is a thriller, from our research of horror/thriller films we have found that thriller films, in some cases have a lower certificate than horror films unless they include very explicit disturbing scenes, which are normally found more in horror films anyway. If we were to make the whole film, our plot will require footage which is not suitable for younger ages. will include footageThe certificate 15 logo will be found on our end credits scene as this is normally where it is found in a real trailer.
